Spindle photoactivation

Project Description

An elongating spindle of a Drosophila S2 cell expressing mEos2-tagged tubulin, imaged on the high speed widefield with a 100x / 1.4 NA objective. A band across the midline of the spindle was photoactivated, converting the tubulin from green to red, and can be seen progressing out from the center of the spindle towards the poles. This movie is sped up 20-fold from real time. Cells courtesy of Nico Stuurman.
